Julia Ingersoll is an American painter with dual French/US nationality, based on the wild Big Sur coast in California, after 10 years living and working in Italy. Her paintings are made from direct observation, in the field. Not unlike a fine wine, they spring from the unique components of “terroir”, of both the inner and outer landscape. The light, the vision, the passion, and the classical tradition. Between the rugged California coast and the artistic atmosphere of Europe, Julia finds a nexus of inspiration and passion for her art and life, as though returned to the home of ancient memory, the heart’s memory.

In addition to landscape, her production also includes still life, figure, watercolors, and drawings. Her work is in numerous private collections in the U.S. and Europe.
